Government Relations

The role of the Georgia Wing Government Relations Office is to represent the interests of Georgia Wing with those state governmental bodies with which we interact. One of our primary goals is to better inform our elected officials of the role we play in service to the people of Georgia. We deal primarily with our state legislature and the Governor's Office through the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA.)

State-level elected officials (such as our Governor, Lt. Governor, State Senators and State Representatives) are welcome to join our Georgia Wing Legislative Squadron. Members of our United States Congressional delegation can join the CAP Congressional Squadron.

Georgia Wing has a Memorandum of Understanding with GEMA. We stand ready to assist GEMA officials in time of emergency or disaster. With a station in the GEMA Emergency Operations Center, we played a significant role during the 1996 Olympic Games, and have responded during Hurricane Floyd and the tornadoes which hit the Atlanta (Cobb, Dunwoody and Gwinnett) area.
