Senior Member's Page
Civil Air Patrol (CAP) offers a wealth of
professional education and training for our adults so those members can
effectively accomplish CAP's missions.
Our adults, who are called "senior members" to differentiate them from our cadet
members, come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. As a result, their
professional development takes them from a strong foundation of education and
training for new members, while allowing more experienced members to become
experts in their chosen fields.
Members who engage in CAP professional development become eligible to receive
special awards signifying their achievements, as well as satisfying requirements
for promotion within the CAP organization.

Membership
Q: How do I join?
A: There are two ways to join as an adult
(18
years or older): senior member or sponsor member.
A
sponsor member is one who has a cadet in the
program and joins by filling out the senior member application,
CAP form 12 (just cross out "Senior"
and write "Sponsor" at the top if the form). This form must be signed by
the Commander after which two copies are made. The
original form is mailed to CAP National Head Quarters along with $25 (the
address is on the form) and the copies will go to Georgia Wing and Augusta
Composite Squadron. A sponsor member is also required to complete a finger
print card. This card is available at CAP squadron HQ and needs to be
mailed with the application going to CAP National HQ.
To join as a senior
member, a finger print card must be completed and form
CAP form 12 must be filled out and signed
by the Commander. Two copies will be made of CAP 12: one for Georgia Wing
and Augusta Composite Squadron. The original copy, $67, and the finger print
card will be sent to CAP National HQ.
Both sponsor and senior members will receive a CAP card in the
mail from CAP National HQ.
